The Tsum Valley is a sacred Himalayan pilgrimage valley situated in a trans-Himalayan region of Gorkha , Nepal. The Tsum Valley ‘s acquaintance with Tibet , natural beauty and its pristine culture make this trekking unique. Tsum comes from the Tibetan work ‘Tsombo’, which means vivid. Against the majestic backdrop of the Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal and Baudha Himal ranges, this serene Himalayan valley is rich in ancient art, culture, and religion. The local people are mostly of Tibetan origin and seak a unique dialect. Trails are strewn with artistic chortens and lined with mani walls made of thousands of stone slabs carved with deities and prayers. The Tsum valley has a long history of Buddhism. The Buddhist saint Milarepa is believed to have meditated in the caves of there mountains. Traditionally Tsum valley was a culturally distinct geographical area called ‘Tsum Tso Chuksum’, which means thirteen provinces ruled as a single territory. The ancient remains of the Tsum Kingdom are still visibletoday. Due to its remotemness and inaccessibility, this sacred valley and its people have been bypassed by mainstream development for centuries. As a result, the unique culture of this valley has remained intact. Tsum Valley Trek has medium level trek difficulty.
20 Days Tsum Valley Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Kathmandu , transfer to Hotel & well come Diner.
Day 2: Sightseeing of Kathmandu
Day 3: After breakfast drive to Arughat Bazar . Overnight
Day 4: Trek to Baseri Village .
Day 5: Trek to Tatopani
Day 6: Trek to Lokpa.
Day 7: Trek to Chhekam.
Day 8: Trek to Nile .
Day 9: Trek to Mu-Gumpa.
Day 10: Trek to Chhekya.
Day 11: Trek to Bhajyo.
Day 12: Trek to Kalung.
Day 13: Trek to Rachen Gumba.
Day 14: Trek to Gumba Lungdang.
Day 15: Trek to Ripchet.
Day 16: Trek to Philim.
Day 17: Trek to Machha Khola.
Day 18: Trek to Arughat.
Day 19: Drive to Kathmandu and Check into hotel.
Day 20: Departure to Airport.
Day 1: Arrival at TIA, Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel & welcome dinner
On this particular day you will land on Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu where you will be warmly received by the representative staffs from Beyond the Limits Treks and Expedition. From TIA, you will be transferred into the hotel in a comfortable vehicle. These tiny things show how much we care for you. Arriving in the hotel we will be discussed on the detail itinerary. Before that we will offer welcome dinner. Stay overnight in hotel.
Day 2: Sightseeing of Kathmandu
This is an important day where you get to sightseeing Kathmandu in the proper guidance of our guide. Since you have lots of things to sight we will be heading in an early morning. There used to an artistic and valuable Durbar Square, at present those monuments are in critical state though it is equally valued. In Kathmandu you can observe numerous cultural heritage sites which are listed in UNESCO, counting Swyambhunath, Bouddhanath and Pashupatinath. Stay overnight in hotel.
Day 3: After breakfast drive to Arughat Bazar
On the following day you will leave Kathmandu and drive to Arughat after enjoying breakfast. Arughat Bazaar, another popular destination of Gorkha, the historical place. Arughat Bazaar is a beautiful place so you can snaps lots of photographs as well. Stay overnight in lodge.
Day 4: Trek to Baseri Village
On the following day you will start to trek Baseri village and it is considered as the charming place which will introduce you to the pastoral life. From here you will turn up to Machha Khola on the next day. Stay overnight in lodge.
Day 5: Trek to Tatopani
Enjoying the trek at Baser Village you will begin to trek Tatopani. Tatopani is also known as hot spring where you can spent some time relaxing your tired body in that hot water. It is believed that taking bathe in that water can cure all your skin diseases. Trekking in Tatopnai will make you seen the pleasant scenery. Stay overnight in tented camp.
Day 6: Trek to Lokpa
On the following day you will leave the beautiful place and head to Lokpa. You will follow moderate ascend and then will pass the suspension bridge above Budhi Gandaki prior to move into Philim. It is counted as the large village inhabited by Gurung and again taking ascend from there will take you to Ekle Bhatti and finally to Lokpa, the initial village to enter Tsum valley. Stay overnight in lodge/tented camp.
Day 7: Trek to Chhekam
On the following day you will leave Lokpa and trek for 6 hours all through the calm green pine forest. After that you will pass Lekali where you will observe the traditional of Gurung. Stay overnight in tented camp.
Day 8: Trek to Nile
On the following day you will head towards the final spot of Upper Tsum Valley and it is known as Nile. It is to be found at the bank of Shiar Khola and it contains a large number of households. Stay overnight in tented camp.
Day 9: Trek to Mu-Gumpa
From Nile you will set out to Mu-Gumpa and it is known as the adobe of old monastery and you will not find any village. You will find yourself at the farthest and elevated spot of Tsum Valley and you may come across the numerous Yak trains. Stay overnight in tented camp.
Day 10: Trek to Chhekya (4,240m) 6hrs
On the following day you will move at an altitude of 4,240 meter and it will consume 6 hours. You will enjoy the trek and then prepare for next day. Stay overnight in tented camp.
Day 11: Trek to Bhajyo (4,030m) 6hrs
Spending a day at Chhekya will make you depart on this day. After taking breakfast you will head to Bhajyo and it will again take 6 hours. Taking downhill will bring lots of things to capture. Stay overnight in tented camp.
Day 12: Trek to Kalung (3,820m)
On the following take gradual downhill you will arrive at Kalung, leaving Bhajyo. The forest and uneven will help you to turn up at the camp site where you will set up the camp. Stay overnight in tented camp.
Day 13: Trek to Rachen Gumba (3,240m) 6hrs
Taking downhill from Kalung will unlock the trekking route to Rachen Gumba. Even on this day you will trek for 6 hours and the trek will bring nice setting of mountains. Stay overnight in tented camp.
Day 14: Trek to Gumba Lungdang (3,200m) 6 ½hrs
On the following day you will trek uphill and it seems meaningful. You will get to sight delightful scene of Ganesh Himal and its range. Taking lunch at Gumba you will hike to the Ganesh Himal Base Camp and spend the night at Gumba Lungdang. Stay overnight in tented camp.
Day 15: Trek to Ripchet (2,468m) 5 ½hrs
On the following day you will trek to Ripchet after you depart from Gumba Lungdang. You will enjoy the downward movement and during the stroll you can view the natural world clearly through your naked eyes. Stay overnight in tented camp.
Day 16: Trek to Philim (1,570m)
On the net day you will wake up early, enjoy breakfast and then begin to trek Philim. Thus, you will take downward movement and you will receive the positive ambiance from the nature. You will admire the trek along with its setting. Stay overnight in tented camp.
Day 17: Trek to Machha Khola
On the next day you will begin to trek Machha Khola after you depart from Philim. You will move into the thick forest crossing broad and narrow valley with small villages. The terrace which will come to appear belong to Lapbesi. Then, you will ascend the trail to Machha Khola and you will set the camp outside of the village. Stay overnight in tented camp.
Day 18: Trek to Arughat
On the following day you will leave Machha Khola and start to trek Arughat. As you have already been here you will be familiar with the place and its attractions. So, taking time you will cover the things which are not covered in previous trek. Stay overnight in tented camp.
Day 19: Drive to Kathmandu and Check into hotel
On this day you will take drive to Kathmandu from Arughat after completing the trek. The drive you will take would be scenic and gratifying. Arriving at Kathmandu you will check into the hotel and take some rest. Stay overnight in hotel.
Day 20: Departure
This is the concluding day where you will be departure from us. Before that you will be transferred into the TIA, Kathmandu safely and affectionately. From TIA, you can catch the flight towards your home town or go for next package. It’s glad to be the part of your adventure.
