Rolwaling Trek is the exotic and adventurous trek that leads you to the remote and wilderness of hidden Rolwaling valley between Everest range and Langtang range. It offers the enthralling views of the snow-capped Mountains like Mt Everest, Langtang, Gaurishankar Himal, Dorje Lakpa and Jugal Himal, diverse flora and fauna, rich culture, beautiful including glacier. The main attraction of Rolwaling trek is the great nunnery monastery called Bigu Gompa, the festival of Mani Rimdu in the Tengboche monastery, Sherpa village, beautiful landscapes, hidden valley of Rolwaling, Tso Rolpa Lake, etc. This is untouched and wilderness trekking region where legendary tales of the shocking snowman called “Yeti haunt the imagination of the trekkers. Rolwaling Trekking is the purely Camping trek where you do not find tea house and lodges on the way.
The Rolwaling trek commences from Charikot which is one day drive from Kathmandu and reaches to Simigaun. From Chrikot you ascend through the bank of Tamakoshi River observing Gaurishankar Himal. Gaurishankar Himal is the holy mountain of Hindu and Hindu people worship it as the incarnation of Lord Shiva and Parvati. During the trek, you pass through pristine glaciers, high passes, snow-fed lakes, Tamang and Sherpa villages, monasteries hidden valley, rugged mountains etc. Once you reach Simigaun, you follow the Rolwaling Khola (river), head towards Bedding which is the last permanent settlement of this trek and Na Gaun which is summer settlement and continue to Lukla via Namche Bazaar. The best seasons to visit this place are autumn and Spring which gives the full enjoyment of trekking to the trekkers.
